Robin L. Anderson
A Brief History
Robin Anderson grew up in a large, creative family in Southern California. She started sketching in pencil as a child and was introduced to watercolor and acrylic in college. She studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, before moving to Northern California, where she focused on building a career in architectural rendering. In community courses taught by Jim Smyth, she learned the basics of painting oil portraits and plein air landscapes. Eventually, Robin found herself in Southern California again, where she gathered up some of her still life florals and went door-to-door to galleries in Laguna Beach. The last door on the street was Lu Martin Galleries, with which she developed a close working relationship that lasted many years. Robin still works as an architectural illustrator but devotes as much time as she can to her oils.
